Fall Colors

Wisconsin is well known for its rolling hills, lakes, rivers and streams,  marshes, pine and deciduous forests. Only deciduous trees, trees that drop their leaves every fall, have colorful foliage.

Yellow foliage is found in such trees as Birch, White Ash, Poplar, Basswood, Beech, Witch Hazel, Aspen, and Hickory. The best red colors are shown in leaves of Red Maple, Sugar Maple, Red Oak, Dogwood, Sumac, Mountain Ash, and Sour Gum.
